What pbb is
pbb (pbb.adedh.app) is a small, invite-only tool a family uses to keep track of its Pokémon cards: who owns what, what it's worth, where it's kept, and what's on the wish list. It's run by one person for family and friends, not as a business.
Grown-ups' accounts
- Sign-in: with Google. pbb learns your name and email address and nothing else from Google, and keeps no Google password or token.
- Your cards: what you enter (cards, languages, finishes, graded cards, what you paid, binders and boxes), kept in a database file of your own.
- Your household: the other parent you invite, and the children's profiles you make.
Children
- A child doesn't have an account. A parent makes a profile with a first name or nickname, a picture chosen from pbb's own icons and a colour. No email, no age, no birthday, no photo of the child.
- A child's cards and wish list are kept in the profile's own database file, managed only by the household's parents.
- A child's tablet is paired by a parent with a one-time code. The tablet keeps a cookie that lets it view that child's binders. It can't add, change, share or send anything, and it has no messages, friends or trading. A parent can unpair it at any time.
- A parent can choose whether card values show on the child's tablet.
Gift links
A parent can make a link to a child's wish list for family. Anyone with the link sees the child's first name and the cards on the list with their prices. A visitor who marks "I'm getting this" types a name; that name is kept with the mark and shown to other visitors and the parents, never on the child's tablet. A parent can switch a link off at any time.
The card scanner
The scanner runs in your phone's browser. The camera picture stays on the phone; only what it reads (a card's number and name, or which card picture it matched) is sent to pbb.
Other services
- Card data and pictures: from TCGdex (tcgdex.dev). pbb's server fetches the pictures and keeps a copy, so your browser and the children's tablets only talk to pbb.
- Prices: TCGplayer market prices through tcgcsv.com, fetched by the server once a day. Nothing about you is sent.
- Text reading for the scanner: the phone may download the free Tesseract.js reader from jsDelivr.
- Claude: if you connect pbb to Claude, Claude can read and update your pbb data (and your children's profiles, if you ask it to) when you ask it to.
- Email: if email is set up, pbb sends invites and updates you choose in Settings.
Where it's kept
On one server (Amazon Web Services, United States), with encrypted backups in the same account. Nothing is sold or shared, and there are no ads or trackers.
Removing data
A parent can archive a child's profile, unpair tablets and switch off gift links from Family. To have an account, a profile or everything deleted, ask (below) and it will be done.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. If a change is significant, users will be told in the app.
